I am a winner!

See?
Can't see that? Try this one:
50000 words. Actually I made it to like 50036. Still, I did it. In one month.

In that same month, I also:

Had a computer die on me.
Reformatted another computer.
Released a version of our online banking software, which involved all kinds of big effort.
Traveled with Kim to Calgary.
Parented, actively, mind you.
Fought distraction after distraction.
Used, as my main writing computer, a laptop that's around ten years old, has no internet connection and can only transfer files using my iPod.

All in all, I'm pretty proud of myself.

Liam, quite simply, I'm impressed. You actually followed through on completing a writing project, even though the world seemed against you finishing it (is there a reason for that? Only a reading can decide...) Congratulations, man.

I think you can also add to your list that the stomach flu went through our home twice during the month. That kind of mucked things up for you a bit too.

Congrats Lum! You worked your butt off and you did it! I'm glad you fought off that midway slump and got back at it. It's nice to see you doing something for you.

Now you just have to start sharing with your "editors"...

Kim: Thanks. Soon.

That's an incredible achievement, Liam. Are you going to shop it around to publishers now, or do a rewrite first?

Congratulations on a job well done.

Hey L! (~no name, just fasion~), I am so incredibly psyched to read the novel. I look forward to it being bound and presented to me in a some kind of binder.

As an aside note, is the laptop to which you refer of the same heritage as one which once graced my presence? If so, what an illustrious career that laptop has had.

BOOYAAAAHHH!!!

Earl: I have a lot of work left to be done on it before it's ready for submission. I'm a nit-picker and now I have something to obsess over.

The eventual plan is to get it out to publishers, though.

James: Thanks. At some point between March and July I'll be pestering people to read it. It is, indeed, the same laptop that squeezed out Adventures in CLab.

I used Microsoft Works to get my story out.
